Hundreds attend ‘BRUSHES’ Opening
It was standing-room only last Friday, Oct. 6th at the opening reception of ‘BRUSHES with the Land’ in Stanwood. Artists and collectors mingled and enjoyed wine and hors d’oeuvres while viewing the new exhibit which features works by 55 artists from the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
Sales that evening included two new oil paintings by Tom Jensen of Everett, a glass vase featuring a sunset on the water by Marc Boutte’, a watercolor scene of snow geese in the field by Molly LeMaster of Camano Island, Vincent Brown’s photograph of a Carnation Bridge, several of John Ebner’s Northwest scenes, Jeanne Burham’s painting of a cafe in Montana, and more.
Response to the show was overwhelmingly positive. “Suzanne Brooker’s work reminds me of a turn of the century plein air masterpiece..she is my new hero,” commented local author Jack Gunter, “And Maxfield Parrish would be jealous.” Gunter also remarked on how much he liked Tom Jensen’s new abstract landscapes.
The show continues through November 12th. Please visit the gallery and see the wonderful exhibit of northwest landscapes. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Sundays, 11 am to 5 pm.
