‘BRUSHES with the Land’ opens Friday, Oct. 5th
The second annual “BRUSHES with the Land - A Northwest Landscape show” opens on Friday, Oct. 5th at Gallery by the Bay. The show features artwork by 60 artists from Seattle to Bellingham. Over 100 pieces were selected for the show, including oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, photography, glass and bronze sculpture.
“This year we have an incredible range of work and many large-scale pieces,” commented gallery owner Gayle Picken.
While some artists focused on the serenity and beauty of Northwest mountains, valleys, and streams, others examined close-up views of a particular bush, branch, or shadow hitting the land. There are also some abstract pieces. “Each artist has a different take on the Northwest landscape,” Picken added, “that’s what makes this show so interesting to see.”
The show will run through Nov. 11th and all artwork is available for sale.
