Artist Brian O’Neill to demonstrate during ArtWalk
Please join us Thursday, January 17th, from 5 pm to 8 pm for the monthly Stanwood Art Walk.
Brian O’Neill will bring his pottery wheel to give demonstrations and talk about his work. Brian is fast becoming one of the West Coast’s most celebrated ceramic artists. He has been juried into the American Craft Council’s shows in San Francisco and Baltimore and shows his work in several galleries throughout Washington.
Brian says this of his work:
“My ceramic work is focused on the balance between raw natural surfaces coupled with very intentional form. I strive to distill the essense of a shape, and get it down to the core of its being.
All my forms are vessels. The idea of holding, containing, protecting something inside - has a meaning beyond physical. The visible form, and the more hidden space within evolves as each piece comes into existence, developing a personality of its own. Much like all of us.”
