Multiple award winning artist, Dianna Shyne
infuses her paintings
with a sense of vitality and life affirming joy.
Pursuing her passion for art, Dianna Shyne has spent nearly thirty years working
in acrylic, oil and watercolor, studying extensively with many renowned teachers.
She merges her 15 years of study in the disciplined art of Russian Impressionism
with her individual impulses and creative ideas.
Richly textured surfaces, compelling compositions, and dynamic color interplay form
the basis of Dianna’s unique style. Her subject matter is as varied as her passions
and interests. Inspiration for her paintings comes from childhood memories, friendships,
travels, fascinations, and dreams. Her most recent painting trip to the Yunnan
Province of China has provided rich painting material for her work for years to come.
With over 25 solo exhibitions in less than seven years, more than a dozen top National
awards, articles in many local and National publications, Dianna has also become
a popular workshop teacher and show juror.
She has given classes and demonstrations both in her home town Seattle, and in areas
as remote as Nunavut Territories and as historically rich as Xian, China. Dianna
is a member of Women Painters of Washington, a signature member and past president
of the Northwest Watercolor Society.
To Dianna, teaching is a joy as well as an art. Conveying not only theoretical art
concepts but also delving into the deeper issues of creativity and the ongoing artistic
journey, Dianna’s classes are both informative and inspirational.
The artist currently lives in Washington State and paints in her studio on Camano
Island overlooking a small bay on the Puget Sound.
