Introductory Session to Glassblowing with Mark Ellinger
Date: Monday through Friday, choose a day and time Time A: 4:00 to 6:00pm Time B: 6:00 to 8:00pm Cost: $60. to register for a session (includes a glass float/ornament made in class)
Description:
An opportunity to assist in the design and creation of
your own glass float or ornament at Glass Quest studio. You will get to be creative and choose your own
colors and style, then assist Mark or Marcus with the melting in of those
colors. Stand in front of the 2300
degree ‘Glory Hole’ and experience the feel and sound of molten glass. A great
chance to “get your feet wet” and gain understanding into the century’s old art
form that is glassblowing. Mark and
Marcus will introduce you to the studio equipment, the chemistry of glass and
walk you through making your own float or ornament. Make a lasting memory for yourself or a
group!
Glassblowing class details:
- Minimum of 2 in each class, with a maximum of 4 in any one session. Get together with a friend and call to schedule a session!
- Age limit is 18+, unless accompanied by a participating adult
- Waivers are to be signed by all participants in the studio, with legal guardians signing for minors
- Guests with medical concerns, such as seizure disorders, are asked to consider another art medium.
- Participants will be able to pick up their float/ornament at a later date. Glass items have to cool in the annealing oven for 24 hours before ready to handle.
Items to bring to class:
- Closed toe, comfortable shoes (cement floor)
- Long sleeved cotton shirts
- Sunglasses
- Long hair to be tied back
- Remember that all-important camera!
- Beverages are fine to bring

Policy: Classes must be paid for in advance in order to reserve
your space. If a class is canceled, we will provide a refund or an
in-store credit. If you cannot take a class you've registered for, you
may find someone to take your spot -- no refunds unless you cancel with
30 days (or more) notice. |
