Main Street - an historical area with interesting old buildings and shops and the railroad. Nice views of town from the hill above. The Art Walk is held in this part of town.

The Hamilton Lumber Smokestack - Along the Stillaguamish, this historic smokestack can be seen for miles.

Historic West End - Stanwood Hotel, Bob’s Market, old brick road, interesting buildings and shops.

Z’s All Things Good - shop in Stanwood with nice tree and roses (on 271st across from the Stanwood Middle School).

Cama Beach State Park
The new state park is on the southwest shore of Camano Island facing Saratoga Passage. The area, used for centuries by Native Americans for fishing and hunting, looks out on sweeping views of the Sound, with Whidbey Island and the Olympic Mountains beyond.
Cama Beach offers visitors a chance to step back in time to a 1930s-era Puget Sound fishing resort complete with waterfront cedar cabins and bungalows. These have been refurbished, with modern conveniences added, and are available for rent year round to individuals and groups.
Driving Directions:
Cama Beach State Park is at 1880 S. West Camano Drive, Camano Island. The park is west of Stanwood and approximately 19 miles from the freeway.
To get there, take Exit 212 off I-5. Turn west on State Route 532 and drive 5.75 miles toward Stanwood/Camano Island. Once in Stanwood, continue west 4.5 miles to “Y” junction of East Camano and North Camano drives. Bear left onto East Camano Drive, which becomes Elger Bay Road. Just after Elger Bay Grocery, take a right onto Mountain View Drive. At the top of the hill, follow the road as it curves to the right and becomes West Camano Drive. The park entrance is 2 miles beyond the curve and is on the left. Enter the gate on the right just inside the entrance and proceed to the park welcome station.
Camano Island State Park
Camano Island State Park is a 134-acre camping park with 6,700 feet of rocky shoreline and beach. The park provides sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and offers opportunities for shellfish harvesting.
Driving Directions:
From I-5:
Take exit #212 and head west onto Hwy. 532. Three miles west of Stanwood, take left at fork (road is now East Camano Dr. and no longer SR 532). Drive approximately six miles on East Camano Dr. (At this point East Camano Dr. heads left by Windermere. Keep to main road, which is now Elger Bay Rd). At a spot marked by Elger Bay Grocery, gas station and a café, turn right onto Mountain View. Travel two miles, climb a steep hill, then turn left onto Lowell Point Rd. The road will dead-end at park entrance.
English Boom Historical County Park:
Views of Mt. Baker and the old posts and a rugged beach.
Directions:
Hwy 532 on to Island, turn north on Good Rd. runs into Utsalady Rd. turn right on Moore Rd. and follow to end. Historical Park, parcel of 7.5 acres, forested, saltwater, and wetlands facing Skagit Bay.
Iverson Spit Waterfront Preserve:
Over 330 acres of protected birding area home to eagles, hummingbirds, shorebirds and many others.
Directions:
East Camano Dr. turn East on Russell Rd. right on Sunrise Blvd. left on Iverson Beach Road follow to beach and continue to end of road, graveled parking area. Open to public; waterfront preserve, birding area, and unsigned nature trail. Future improved parking, interpretive board and signed nature trail.
Utsalady Boat Ramp: Usually lots of boats and people
Directions:
North Camano Drive, turn on Utsalady Point Road then right on Baker Road to the beach area.
Cavalero County Park: it’s a county park and has a great view looking over at the bluffs
Directions:
East Camano Drive just north of the Country Club area. County Park sign. Turn on Cavalero Road. Picnic tables, small boat launch.
Dry Lake Road and Wetland Trail Head Park:
Elger Bay Rd. west on Dry Lake Rd. N.W. corner of Ivey Way and Dry Lake Road. Parcel of 2 1/2 acres, site includes a small graveled parking lot for people planning to enter Cama/Camano parks. Future plans include sign showing trail system: Cama/Camano and Cross Island. A picnic table will be located between parking area and trail.
Four Springs Lake Preserve:
Fifty acre site that offers a forested area, open field area, a lake fed by four springs, and buildings, including a facility located in a protected wetland environment. (www.fourspringshouse.com)
Directions: SR532 to East Camano Drive, west on Camano Hill Rd, Right on Lewis Lane, at end.
